• -Our client is a renowned fashion magazine located at Ikeja Lagos and who is in need of an Editor in Chief
• - What Does an Editor in Chief Really Do? An Editor-in-Chief is the lead of the editorial team who determines the look, feel and content of a publication
• - This person will manage the team of writers and editors at 21 MAG, and will decide what to publish as well as oversee the publication’s operations and policies
• - We are currently hiring an experienced and passionate Editor-in-Chief to lead our editorial team and oversee the production of content for publication
• - This includes developing styling guidelines, executing the editorial calendar, determining content strategy, reviewing content, contributing to editorial pieces, and managing day-to-day operations
• - To succeed in this role, you must have a strong vision for the brand, as well as excellent editing, writing and leadership skills Editor in Chief Duties and Main Responsibilities ● Hiring and developing writers, junior editors and senior editors
• - ● Approving the publication's layout, design, style and tone
• - ● Reviewing written content for spelling and grammar errors
• - ● Fact-checking information in articles and stories
• - ● Providing suggestions for edits when needed
• - ● Writing editorial pieces to contribute to the publication
• - ● Developing and managing budgets for the editorial team
• - ● Representing the publication at social functions and in the media
• - ● Making final decisions about which stories, articles and photographs to publish
• - ● Attending meetings with the CEO to discuss issues and plans for the publication
• - ● Working closely with the team to develop editorial boards for upcoming publications, issues, and campaigns
• - ● Staying current with social media trends and best practices, and making decisions about how the publication will evolve
• - ● Consistently hitting target content frequency goals weekly and monthly
• - ● Working with the business side of the organization to ensure that the publication is profitable
• - ● Setting goals and objectives for the editorial team, and assessing their performance regularly
